Are you exercising/running for Good or Worst?

I have been running for the past one month and I have noticed one thing about running it’s the greatest fat burner in the short run than any weighing machines out there. But at one point your body refuses to burn fat because it gets accustomed to the route you take, intensity you run at and the pace with which you feel comfortable.

The whole purpose of exercising is to push yourself to the limits. This way your body experiences wear and tear and your muscles start to build it again to compensate for the lose it has incurred and that process starts when you are at rest and that’s when you loose fat.

The whole ‘funda’ of exercising revolves around pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Once you do that you will automatically feel the pain, twinge and aches in it and it is the reflection that your body is going through a severe wear and tear and that is good.

But there is a catch...

Job Hoppers: It’s Ok!!!

Anywhere we go the first question a HR person would ask- why did you left your previous job that early? It’s the most dreaded question from an interviewee perspective, yet we manage to answer it with outmost wisdom and honesty. Not every time an HR person would seem to be convinced but can’t do much.

Probably he has one question continuously going for in his head, ok he has this problem with this job but not all jobs are same. He is the culprit. We are adjudged guilty without even hearing our case. Bad. Seriously bad!

Nobody becomes a job hopper by choice though exceptions are always there but you can’t generalise that all hoppers will turn out bad employees. Well why I am advocating their cause is I myself is one of them. Have heard this question numerous times and every time I have answered it, I have been grilled with barrage of other questions. Fortunately, I have managed to answer...

A writer’s conundrum

Being a writer is tough. You will always find yourself jostling for space to make people read you. There are thousands of blogs that throng the internet. Infact they make the core of internet for what it is today- information.

Writing is a hard job. It requires patience. Patience to write, research, compile, edit, rewrite and god knows what not. Also, some patience is required from the reader’s side as well. It is enough to put someone off by simply making him see the length of your book or article.

But it is writer’s own creativity how he hooks his readers with his story. Most of writing is story telling. It makes the most boring topics interesting or at least make them less sleepy to read.

People are slowly distancing themselves from reading, why? When you have the luxury to make people see the same story visually enacted by actors or recited by characters, who will take the...

2 States: A Review

First things first- I will give 2 States a ‘Thumbs up’. Probably 3.5 out of 5. That’s what you were looking for, yep! Now I can move further with it, ok.

I haven’t read 2 States but the title in itself is pretty revealing and after watching the promos and posters it was pretty obvious that it’s a love story where two families involved are from two distinct cultures – Punjabis & Tamils. North-South Divide you know.

The story starts with Arjun Kapoor being portrayed as a patient who is visiting a psychiatrist for suicidal tendencies and he is narrating his story to his psychiatric Doctor for obvious reasons.

Now it starts. Alia Bhatt has again donned that girl next door image who is cool, nonchalant and carefree types. While Arjun Kapoor is nerdy, geeky looking guy with an ambition to earn lots of money and pursue his passion of ‘Writing’ afterwards.

First phase of the story starts...

Practise can achieve what talent can’t!!!

We all marvel at the art of Messi, finesse of Xabi and speed of Ronaldo but have you ever wondered apart from just being footballers what categorize them into the same league. Logical answers only?? Not stupid or obvious ones. ;)

These players have practised their art for approx. or more than 10,000 hours; yes we all get pretty excited at their immaculate, passing, shooting & precise kicks but if you flip back & skim through their life book, you will find these kids haven’t earned what they have by sheer talent. In fact talent is quite overrated (borrowed from the book obviously). These guyz have put in enormous amount of their energy & time into the game. And yes, don’t they deserve to be where they are?

Why I decided to compile this piece is precisely to remind myself and a bit to you knowledgeable folks, that talent is highly overrated. Till reading this book ‘Bounce’ by Mathew...

Why we all wear mask?

450741691.jpg
Probably, we all wear mask of some sort. We all are pure till we are at our home barring few exceptions but the moment we step into this dirty little world, we suddenly wear mask.

Mask to veil our true identity. Why one hides his/her identity? The reasons vary from person to person. A job seeker wears the mask of the best applicant for the job in front of the employer, boyfriend wears the mask of best lover, student wears the mask of an obedient child and etc.

It all goes pretty well till these masks are on the face, the moment they are unveiled, the true identity is exposed naked. Most times the sufferer always is the person who wears the mask.

People no more believe him (even if he is telling the truth). He stands to lose his job, friends, colleagues, lover, investors etc. Now when he stands exposed, the real bone of contention is why at all we feel the necessity to do so?

The...

Friends, I am leaving for Mathura- northern state in the heartland of UP, India. The prospect seems exciting, will keep you posted with photographs and will tell you about what is means to celebrate Holi at this place and India. Meanwhile, you can take a look at my previous posts and let me know what do you think? I know I have been rude to you by not posting enough photographs with my posts. But believe you me; I will be posting more pictures with my content to empower the impact. I am loving that it makes you excited to read my blog. In case something annoys you, I am sorry but do let me know what it is. If that is in my capacity, I shall definitely correct the same. Looking to hear from you all. Bye!!!

A letter to my readers…Happy reading

I call myself a creative person. There are two reasons for doing it. I am a budding writer though I don’t write for a living; previously I used to do it. Secondly, this call psychologically prepares me and constantly yells in my ears that I need to be creative while writing.

Well, I was reading Autin Kleon’s blog not his book about ‘sharing your work’ without fail so, I got inspired and decided to write a blogpost about how I work and how ideas stumble to me. I plan to be fiercely honest with this.

To start my day, I read a lot. I try to read a lot. Most writers rather successful writers read a lot. I don’t do this because most writers do it. I do this to increase my knowledge and make me accustomed to the outside world. It feels now I can write though it may be completely different from what I have read.

I think I can’t grow without any feedback. Though, my blog following is not...

India- A tale of ‘success maniacs’

In my previous post on ‘celebrating failure’ I touched upon a bit on embracing failure. Why it’s a natural ingredient for success?

Why we Indians are so scared of failure? The answer lies in our upbringing. When we are growing up, our parents, relatives or our so called well wishers already position in our young minds, if you don’t do well in your life you will be deemed as a failure. Nobody will marry you. You won’t earn enough money to have a respectable position in society. People won’t respect you and so much bull shit.

The result- children don’t spend time experimenting rather lock themselves in a cubicle, mug word by word theory, internalize mathematics formula and apply them into solving theoretical problems. That’s it!!!

These tactics are helpful in their exams as application of theory learned doesn’t feature in the radar of the examiner. He is only interested in knowing how...

Celebrating failure 

“Failure is simply a cost you have to pay on the way to being right”- Seth Godin

Failure is the most dreaded word in the society we live in. Failures are often criticized and ridiculed. The golden rule works here if you don’t get good grades, you won’t get a decent job & you won’t go anywhere in your life. To put it simpler -failures are not smart and are often undesirable (borrowed from somewhere).

The process of criticizing failures starts very early in our lives. Parents are often found chiding the child for failure in the exam. It seems failure has got a whole new meaning these days, you have got 80% but if your friend has secured 90%, you are treated no better than a failure. Height of insanity!!!

I haven’t compiled this piece to be a critic nor treat me as a cynical person but I am against the very discrimination that ‘we’ failures endure in the current context.

In my quest, I...
