Job Hoppers: It’s Ok!!!

Anywhere we go the first question a HR person would ask- why did you left your previous job that early? It’s the most dreaded question from an interviewee perspective, yet we manage to answer it with outmost wisdom and honesty. Not every time an HR person would seem to be convinced but can’t do much.

Probably he has one question continuously going for in his head, ok he has this problem with this job but not all jobs are same. He is the culprit. We are adjudged guilty without even hearing our case. Bad. Seriously bad!

Nobody becomes a job hopper by choice though exceptions are always there but you can’t generalise that all hoppers will turn out bad employees. Well why I am advocating their cause is I myself is one of them. Have heard this question numerous times and every time I have answered it, I have been grilled with barrage of other questions. Fortunately, I have managed to answer most of them but it certainly is a way to make a person feel that we don’t like you.

If we delve deep into a job hoppers psyche, we will find out they don’t like status-quo. Either they don’t gel with the team or have problems with how things go at a particular place. They face issues with their managers or bosses or they are simply fired. They are always on lookout for something better for themselves in terms of salary, status, benefits etc.. Or the last they think, their current organization simply doesn’t fit into their scheme of things. The reasons are many.

Most companies don’t like them but you will often find a job hopper having tremendous self-belief and he somehow manages to find that another job inspite of all the ridicule. Their belief system is picture perfect because people who are insecure or are less gifted(less practice) would hardly explore this world.

Moreover, job hoppers can adjust to different environment pretty quickly otherwise they make a move. They create good contacts but some contacts get ruined as well in their quest for that next opportunity. They have good family support or else they live in outmost destitution. They are qualified enough if they are not they are fired (again on look out for another job) This is how world works and move for us.

Are you a job hopper? Do you justify my above claims or you have something more to add to this? Would love to hear from you.
